Triathalon
This is a highly physically demanding test for the highly fit based on a three-part circuit corresponding to the three sporting disciplines
: swimming, cycling and running.
It is held during the month of July and is the only
olympic triathalon in Granada Province.
It should be pointed out that Zújar has the regional headquarters
for the Andalusian modern Triathalon, Duathlon and Pentathalon Federation.

Mountain bike trials
This competition is now consolidated and is held every year.
The trials are the result of the special attraction
for mountain bike lovers, since thay have to ride up
Jabalcón hill in as little time as possible.
They are held on 15 August and have a route of
11,6 Km with an incline of up to
12%.

24 hours of 5 a-side
football
This popular competition is held every year.
Teams from surrounding areas are brought together
and the winners are presented with large cash prizes and sporting equipment.
It takes place during the month of August.

San Silvestre race
A sporting way to say goodbye to the year is to
participate in this race which is organised on the last
Sunday of the year. It is held in the afternoon
with a route through the most picturesque streets in the
village.

Spanish hang-gliding championship
The unbeatable conditions offered by the winds of
Jabalcón hill make it one of the most popular places for fans of
hang-gliding and paragliding from all over Europe.
Evidence of this is the fact that the race is a part of
Spanish Championship which has been organised here on various occasions.
The hill boasts two equipped take off slopes.

Rural Olympics
Children are the stars of these odd olympics which test their
knowledge and skill in handling farming tools.
They are a good excuse to get together and have fun
making the most of rural customs. It is held
in August, coinciding with the cultural week.

Cultural Week
During one week in August a collection of cultural events take place.
These include exhibitions, contests, recitals, plays,
etc. It's a variety of cultural events available to all
ages.

Band competition
As a reflection of the great love of music in Zújar
every year a Band competition is organised where different groups
from Granada get together. It is held during the Summer in Plaza
Mayor.
